1. Obvious one first: their bickering. I know it’s a reason some people use against Ron and Hermione, but for me, their bickering is just a way for them to channel all their emotions toward one another, feelings about each other that they’re confused about and that they would never dream of voicing aloud. It also brings me to my no.2;#20: 5 Reasons you ship Ron/Hermione
2. how they keep challening each other, alwas pushing each others buttons because they can and because it somehow confirms their feelings for each other, even though they always choose not to act upon them. It’s like they sense it’s not their time yet, which brings me to no.3:
3. by book 7, they seem well aware of what the other’s feeling, despite insecurities on Ron’s part and hesitance on Hermione’s part; but they’ve always been able to put aside their squabbles and stand united for Harry’s sake and I love this mutual agreement to always be there for their best friend even if it means that it’s a detour for them.
4. I’ve always loved how in tune they are about so many things, but at the same time, how they’re on complete different levels on the emotional scale. I mean, Hermione knows pretty early on what she’s feeling, but it takes Ron a while to realize that what he feels for her is more than just friendship; and despite all that, they can just share one look of understanding and they’ll just know.
5. Last but not least; Ron and Hermione complete each other. I think this reason is an obvious one as well, but it’s such a valid one. Where Ron’s all heart, Hermione is all mind; it’s a very black-and-white way to look at them, but I think together, they manage to keep in sight all that’s important in life - friendship and love and family. It’s what they represent to Harry too, and I think there’s a reason for that.
